POSITION SUMMARY
The Hospital Liaison is responsible to actively promote the facility so that there is a full and balanced compliment of residents in the facility at all times. Will Supervise the Admissions Assistant, schedule marketing events including luncheons, make visits to the doctors offices and hospitals, will distribute brochures to appropriate locations and participate in Health Care related events. Must have a minimum of two years experience in the health care setting/marketing or sales. A Bachelors Degree in Social Service, Psychology, Nursing or Business is preferred. Posses a working knowledge of the medical and public health care setting, principles of Medicaid, Medicare regulations and reimbursements, nursing home regulations and knowledge of pertinent federal and state laws and regulations. Good oral and written communication skills. Good public speaking ability. Must be able to skillfully handle emotional and stressful situations with residents and families. Advance directive procedures. Fieldwork outside of the facility is required to maintain regular contact with referral agencies. Must have a genuine interest in geriatric residents and a liking for people with a desire to serve those who are ill and incapacitated. Must be able to adjust self to diversified types of personalities and use tact and judgment in dealing with varying situations. Must use tact and courtesy in dealing with residents, their families, and visitors and co-workers.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work indoors in well-lighted and ventilated rooms. Most of the work will occur outside of the facility marketing with referral sources. May need to work beyond normal working hours or in other positions temporarily when necessary. May be required to work on weekends and holidays, and possibly on other shifts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Good physical and mental health. Job requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, handling, pulling, lifting of up to 15 pounds; fine hand coordination; ability to communicate with residents, personnel and referral sources; ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures; ability to hear and respond to verbal stimuli; ability to read and write; and ability to remain calm under stress and react to slight motions. Manual dexterity to handle instruments and equipment is necessary. The job requires a keen sense of vision (with or without correction) necessary for close inspection and attention to minute details and small objects. Also requires the ability to read, interpret, and implement complex regulations.

Must have the ability to communicate with residents, families, outside agencies, and personnel and ability to remain calm under stress.
